It Starts With One Step Every Day
EVERY DAY ACTION safely, swiftly, and legally rescues the left-over gourmet catered meals from TV/film sets, select grocery stores, corporate events, food festivals, and more and delivers them to those in need: our local unhoused and under-resourced communities of Los Angeles struggling with food insecurity.
Created and founded by two veteran Assistant Directors with the Directors Guild of America, EVERY DAY ACTION is fast becoming the nonprofit film industry standard for reducing food waste on sets while helping eradicate hunger right here in L.A. We pick up surplus food from each production we work with, and donate it directly to nearby local communities all over Los Angeles County (from San Pedro all the way up to Santa Clarita!)

By donating surplus meals to shelters, missions, pantries, community fridges, and local unhoused communities, Every Day Action is feeding those in need, shrinking landfills, creating tax breaks, and reducing carbon footprints.
In addition to our food reallocation program, Every Day Action is proud to employ Production Assistants and Background Actors who are in between jobs to pick up and drive meals to those who need; paying them for their day's work plus a gas stipend.
Without our team of reallocators, we would never be able to reach the thousands that we do weekly.
We’re proud to be changing the conversation around food waste not only in Hollywood, but across greater Los Angeles. WHO WE WORK WITH
We work in conjunction with Hollywood Film and TV sets throughout the greater Los Angeles area, to safely, seamlessly, and legally reallocate gourmet food destined for the dumpster and deliver it directly into the hands of those battling food insecurity. Additionally, we collaborate with grocery stores, corporate offices, food festivals, sporting events and more.
Our hope is to help eliminate food waste while helping to solve our city’s hunger crisis. As long as the food donated is prepared professionally, following food safety guidelines, we will come to rescue what is still able to serve and put it into the hands of our under-resourced neighbors.
