Nonprofit Every Day Action to Host 2nd Annual Recycle-ball Celebrity Gala

Every Day Action’s annual gala will raise funds to fight hunger in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles, Calif., January 30, 2024 –  Every Day Action (EDA), a nonprofit that aims to eliminate food waste and fight hunger by redistributing unused meals from film and TV sets to unhoused communities across Los Angeles, is proud to announce tickets are officially on sale for its upcoming 2nd Annual Recycle-ball Celebrity Gala. Following the success of last year’s gala, which drew more than 200 people, including starring cast members of Pretty Little Liars and NCIS Los Angeles, Every Day Action anticipates an even more impactful evening this year.

The Recycle-ball promises a star-studded evening of old Hollywood glamour and philanthropy, where guests can enjoy a red carpet, gourmet five-course dining, multi-level bars and lounges, live and silent auctions, and mingle with surprise celebrities guests. This year, EDA is excited to introduce the inaugural Heart of Humanity Award, which will be presented by Jesse Tyler Ferguson to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS for their enduring commitment to humanitarian causes and their collaborative efforts to make a positive difference in the world.

As an environmentally conscious nonprofit, EDA partners with World Centric for 100% biodegradable packaging, sustaining its food-saving program year-round. “In the spirit of this effort, we are making the theme of this year’s gala the Recycle-ball,” said EDA’s Co-founder and CEO Hillary Cohen. “We are encouraging everyone to dress in ‘recycled’ attire, whether it be self-made, rented, thrifted, borrowed, or previously owned. Just not brand new!”

Sponsored by companies such as 204 Events, New Belgium Brewing, Eco Set, Jackson McCrea Whiskey, Hendrick’s Gin, Milagro Tequila, and more, funds raised during the event will directly support EDA's initiatives to combat food waste and hunger in Los Angeles, making a lasting impact on the lives of those in need. The gala presents an opportunity for media and community members to join EDA on this important mission.

The event is set to take place on April 27, 2024, at 6 p.m. at Intercrew LA, located at 3330 Wilshire Blvd. in Los Angeles. For more information on tickets, sponsorships, and event details, visit www.youreverydayaction.org/2024gala.

About Every Day Action

Every Day Action safely, swiftly, and legally rescues the left-over gourmet catered meals from TV/film sets, select grocery stores, corporate events, food festivals, and more and delivers them to those in need: the local unhoused and under-resourced communities of Los Angeles struggling with food insecurity. Created and founded by two veteran Assistant Directors with the Directors Guild of America, Every Day Action is fast becoming the nonprofit film industry standard for reducing food waste on sets while helping eradicate hunger in L.A. Every Day Action picks up surplus food from each production the nonprofit works with, and redistributes an average of 60,000 meals directly to nearby local communities all over Los Angeles County (from San Pedro all the way up to Santa Clarita!)
