Los Angeles Nonprofit Every Day Action CEO Honored as L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth

The program recognizes Every Day Action Co-Founder and CEO Hillary Cohen alongside 9 other extraordinary women who ignite change within their communities through nonprofit work.

Los Angeles, Sept. 4, 2024 – Hillary Cohen, Co-Founder and CEO of Every Day Action (EDA), a nonprofit dedicated to eliminating food waste and combating hunger by redistributing unused meals from film and TV sets to unhoused communities across Los Angeles, has been named a 2024 L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth honoree. Cohen and EDA are recognized alongside nine other remarkable nonprofit leaders nationwide who are driving positive change in addressing some of the nation’s most pressing issues.

Created and founded by two veteran Assistant Directors with the Directors Guild of America, Every Day Action is fast becoming the nonprofit film industry standard for reducing food waste on sets while helping eradicate hunger in Los Angeles. To amplify Every Day Action’s cause, the organization will receive a $25,000 grant from intermediary L'Oréal Paris grant partner GlobalGiving, to help fuel their endeavors. Additionally, Cohen and honorees will receive mentorship from L'Oréal Paris on how to enhance business efforts as well as increased visibility through the brand’s national platforms.

L'Oréal Paris selected Cohen and honorees in partnership with Points of Light, the global leader in volunteering and service, and nonprofit program partner of 18 years. “Each of these women are the embodiment of our tagline ‘Because You’re Worth It,’” said L'Oréal Paris USA President, Ali Goldstein. “In our nearly 20 years of recognizing female trailblazers, it never ceases to amaze me how we continue to build a strong community of female founders who are leading positive change within their respective industries.”

Cohen and the entire Every Day Action team are both honored and excited for their cause to receive the program’s recognition and support. “We look forward to this grant and L'Oréal Paris’s mentorship having a direct and significant impact on our cause and the communities we serve,” shared Cohen.

“It was an honor being a part of the judging process in selecting this year’s honoree class and learning about the amazing causes these women have created,” said actress and brand spokeswoman, Aja Naomi King.

To further raise awareness for honorees’ organizations, L'Oréal Paris has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery's Courageous brand studio to produce a storytelling campaign, highlighting each woman’s extraordinary journey and philanthropic achievements. These branded vignettes will be distributed across the ad-supported tier of MAX and will direct audiences to learn more.
